This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for Audiovisual Production.
Duties
As a AUDIOVISUAL PRODUCTION SPECIALIST at the GS-1071-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serves in the Visual Information Division and is responsible for planning, executing, directing, editing, and producing visual information products designed to communicate the Agency's vision, goals, values and objectives to a variety of audiences - both internal and external.
Serves as Producer, Director, and staff photographer with the primary responsibility for planning, creating, scripting, designing, shooting, narrating, maintaining, overseeing, and disseminating documentaries, informational and marketing video productions, newscasts, agency events, training videos and still photos.
Plans production schedules and directs rehearsals, staging, lighting and sequence of the production. Plans video productions to ensure they remain on schedule and within budget.
Responsible for conducting client meetings and taking clients through the production process by identifying in a formal document what production steps will take place (as appropriate to project) through the pre-production, production, and post-production processes.
Maintains security of visual information equipment and operates and maintains records in accordance to DoDI 5040.02 and other applicable laws, regulations and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
Experience in planning, creating, scripting, designing, shooting, narrating, maintaining, overseeing, and disseminating video productions to ensure they remained on schedule and within budget. These productions may include; documentaries, informational and marketing video productions, newscasts, training videos and still photos.
Experience creatively directing the development of visual information products communicating key strategic messages to diverse target audiences. Experience coordinating shooting locations through appropriate channels; setting up still and video gear (including lights, lenses, filters, mounts and other auxiliary equipment), capturing imagery and editing final products (including the selection and arrangement of final sequence of recorded scenes to be used, music and sound effects directed at assuring artistic quality of production).
Experience reviewing completed work for conformance to standards/quality and maintaining records according to laws regarding intellectual copyright.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 1071 series.
A. Undergraduate and Graduate Education:Major study -- photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position. Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis.
B. Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes work directly connected with the production aspects of the field(s) of the position to be filled.
