Duties

As a Supervisory Security Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Supervise, manage, and oversee the day to day operations of Special Security Officers (SSOs) assigned to the field and their area of responsibility; Enforce compliance with DHS and Intelligence Community Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) policies; Investigate and analyze a broad range of unusual SCI Security problems, questions, or conditions associated with handling, processing, storing or discussing SCI, or questions related to national SCI programs; Oversee the safeguarding of SCI in field operations from unauthorized access, or inadvertent disclosure, by ensuring only duly authorized and indoctrinated personnel access SCI in properly accredited facilities over approved networks; Supervise and oversee Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) construction security requirements during SCIF construction projects in the field.

  • Probationary Period: This is a full-time permanent position (Career/Career-Conditional appointment). Upon appointment to this position, you may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.

You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Initiating and leading projects involving SCIF operations; Investigating and resolving SCI security incidents; Performing indoctrinations, security briefings, and debriefings; Ensuring compliance with Intelligence Community Directives (ICD) and Intelligence Community SCI policies and procedures; and Overseeing SCIF construction security requirements during SCIF construction projects.
