About the Position: The primary purpose of the position is to serve as the Division's Regional Water Resources Plan Formulation expert and advisor. dvises District members who serve on project delivery teams about water resources plan formulation inputs required for various studies and projects. Provides the districts with needed on-the-job training to junior planners and monitors their progress.
Duties
Provides authoritative advice and guidance to key staff within the Districts, and other officials at Federal, State, and County agency levels.

Reports to the Planning Chief periodically on teams’ work accomplishments, problems, progress in mastering tasks and work processes, and individual training needs.
As a Water Resources Plan Formulation Specialist, responds to requests for technical advice and assistance from any District and Division team member.
Confers with planners, economists, environmental staff, and engineers in other organizational units engaged in various aspects of planning, engineering design and construction to resolve conflicts or delays to the timely completion of work.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level in the Federal Government (or equivalent) which includes experience in serving as a Water Resources Plan Formulation Specialist providing guidance on sophisticated and technically challenging water resources planning studies assigned to the districts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
Education
