Duties
You will serve as advisor and consultant on ACS programs.
You will provide technical advice, guidance and assistance in planning, managing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating the execution and operation of Pacific wide matters pertaining to ACS.
You will analyze resourcing requirements and options for Family support programs.
You will perform a variety of programming, financial management, and budgeting duties involved with assessment, development, consolidation and evaluation of programs.
You will provide technical guidance to garrisons/installations on program implementation, administration, evaluation and modification of ACS programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) travel may be required up to 20% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Basic Requirement for Social Science Specialist:
A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, such as Social Science or Social Work.
OR
B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing the family program's operational guidance, procedures and training. Develop methods and techniques required for program execution, determining operational relationships and conduct trend analysis. Coordinate the budget fiscal planning and programming documents to support program development and execution. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
