This vacancy is for a Supervisory IT Specialist position in the Associate Director for Economic Programs located at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland. The Census Bureau is accessible from the Metro Rail Green Line - Suitland Station.
This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Supervisory IT Specialist, 2210-14, FPL GS-14, positions within the Census Bureau in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
Duties
Architect, design, develop, test, and deploy data driven web applications and information systems.
Leads project teams to develop software for large generalized systems with high volume/big data.
Serves as key representative and subject matter expert for adoption of new technologies and standards.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes building and leading/overseeing others in the development of web and batch applications; high volume web applications as well as systems data processing and analysis; HTTP protocol and relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, and Postgres. Experience with web languages such as: PHP, Laravel, Python, JavaScript, Vue, and Angular. Consulting with customers and subject matter experts to refine requirements through modeling and/or prototyping.
In addition to specialized experience above, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
Education: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer.
Education
