This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA Risk Management Directorate Network Risk Analysis Division.

Duties

Performs cybersecurity reviews to identify security gaps in Information Technology architecture resulting in recommendations for inclusion into the risk mitigation strategy. Identifies, evaluates, and assesses applications and operating systems of network resources and analyzes anomalies in network traffic or design. Develops mission attack plans and strategies using a technical expert knowledge of cyber defense and vulnerability assessment tools, including open-source tools, and their capabilities. Ensures proper test design which will allow full evaluation of system/equipment against known, new, and emerging threats and vulnerabilities. Provides technical advice and guidance concerning the technical adequacy and suitability of test plans. Assesses the level of risk and provides recommendations on appropriate mitigation activities.

• This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
• This is a drug test position requiring pre-employment and random drug testing.
• This position is subject to Cyber Workforce requirements as defined by the DoD 8140 policy series for the position's required CYBER Work Role(s).
• This position requires the incumbent to travel away from their normal duty station to other locations within the continental United States (CONUS) up to 25 percent of the time.
• This position requires a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as experience performing threat and cybersecurity assessments of computing environments to identify deviations from acceptable configurations and policies and using the results to perform risk analysis and document risk. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experienceat the GG-13 grade level.
