You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT in the BUSINESS MANAGEMENT OFFICE of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.
Duties
You will advise hiring managers on civilian human resource practices (e.g., hiring, merit promotion, excepted service appointments).
You will maintain data (e.g., personnel reports, recruitment tracking) in a human resources information system.
You will advise customers on staffing and recruitment processing procedures.
You will analyze position descriptions to identify knowledge, skills, and abilities required for effective work performance.
You will extract data from a human resources information system for use in reports.
You will maintain organizational charts and verify organizational data and structures.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1) Extending tentative job offers, collecting and verifying the accuracy of in-processing paperwork and coordinating entry on duty dates; 2) Submitting personnel actions such as promotions, reassignments, separations, etc. into the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS); 3) Providing general HR information and assistance to employees and external applicants; and 4) Utilizing Microsoft Office programs to create and prepare reports. NOTE: This answer must be fully supported by the experience listed in your resume.

Education
Generally, not applicable. As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-05 for most 0203-Human Resources Assistance positions; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.
