This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Superintendent, Blackfeet Agency in Browning, Montana. This position will contribute to the mission of Real Estate Services by providing program support.

Duties
Communicates with beneficiaries/lessees/other landowners and interested parties about the process options, documentation, and other needs that may be associated with conveyance activities.
Serves as an assistant assuming a wide variety of administrative duties, i.e., records management, processing correspondence, budget, reports, time, and attendance.
Screens incoming correspondence, prepares, and processes replies to routine inquiries and assembles any required supplemental material and submits for signature.
Accepts applications for realty-associated activity, providing technical assistance and information in response to inquiries to assure regulatory compliance.
Works with automated systems to verify ownership and monitor activity.

Qualifications
This position is OPEN UNTIL FILLED and may be extended or closed prior to the current closing date. Applications will be reviewed every two weeks; the first cut-off date for applications is 10 business days from the opening date and every two weeks thereafter. Applicants with 10-point Veterans' Preference who submit a complete application after each two week cut-off date, but before the List of Eligibles is issued, will be considered and referred on the List, if qualified.
Minimum Qualification GS-5/6/7:
GS-5 grade level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 grade level in the federal service: Working with customers to provide instructions on routine process and convey advice to customers on the application options; perform a variety of administrative duties which include verifying completed application packet(s), answering phones, greeting guest(s), responding to email inquiries, and assembly of publications.

Education: 4 years above high school.
GS-6 level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level in the federal service: Providing lessee and land owner information pertaining to disposal, tenure, right-of-way, permits, lease, and sales and conveyance activities that include verifying data in contracts, and assuring regulatory compliance. Prior experience using automated systems to manage and input data in electronic records. Gathering pertinent data to build reports using dates and ownership records from various sources. Verifying ownership, reviewing current and historic data. Monitoring routine activities from beginning to end.
GS-7 level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-6 grade level in the federal service: Assisting with preparation of leases and permits, researching regulations and laws concerning leases, providing information to prospective leases, reviewing documents for completion and accuracy. Maintaining files of all permits, leases and realty documents, consulting with customers/potential lessees on a daily basis, and answering inquiries of leases and permits. Providing direct assistance in preparing realty correspondence, reports, typing, maintain logs, data sheets, and processing of realty transactions. Preparing and clearing and categorizing files. Performing a variety of administrative duties, analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions. Planning and organizing work and communicating effectively orally and in writing.
As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-5 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
