About the Position: This position is located at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia under the Directorate of Administration.

Duties

Troubleshoot and resolve problems for TRICARE beneficiaries and providers. Provide benefit briefings to eligible beneficiaries at various installation functions such as military retirement briefings, newcomer briefings, commander calls, and spouse orientations. Provide information and assistance based upon personal, written, or telephone inquiries concerning both inpatient and outpatient medical care from civilian sources under the TRICARE program. Serve as the point of contact on matters relating to health benefits programs available to eligible beneficiaries. Provide advisory services on benefits offered through the TRICARE program

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and could be subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work on any day or shift, including PMs, nights, weekends, holidays, or on an "on call" basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.
  • Occasional TDY may be required.
  • This position has an Immunization requirement.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Health Care Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Cost Benefit AnalysisEducation and TrainingInformation Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
