This position is in the Office of Chief Data Officer (OCDO), Departmental Offices (DO), Assistant Secretary for Management (ASM).
As a Deputy Chief Data Officer, you will lead the vision, design and development of agency-wide data use, governance, and management strategies consistent with the Federal Data Strategy and Presidential Management Agenda objectives.
Duties
As a Deputy Chief Data Officer, you will:
Review Treasury-wide data standards, privacy requirements, and a baseline of available data tools.
Ensure comprehensive inventory of data sets are made available to internal and external stakeholders.
Establish a comprehensive data strategy, working in concert with the Chief Data Officer, Data Governance Board, and data advisory councils, which outlines the framework for coherently organizing, governing, analyzing, and deploying Treasury's critical data assets.
Provide leadership and management of activities related to statutory requirements, reporting, and ensures the transparency of program.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience for the GS-15 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-14 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:
- Experience applying data governance principles and practices to big data and analytics, in order to improve data driven products for decision making.; AND
- Managing and improving data quality and metadata, such as through the development of policies, tools, and management or support of data governance bodies.; AND
-Demonstrated leadership and advocacy on data improvement objectives, including providing data leadership and obtaining consensus from technical and non-technical stakeholders at different levels of an organization.; AND
- Serving as a liaison between business and technology to ensure data is fit for decision-making and business analysis, and to ensure data governance policies, roles and responsibilities are clearly defined, communicated, and well understood.
TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.
TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
