About the Position: The U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY is an academic institution located in the Hudson River Valley, 50 miles from New York City. The historic site is the oldest continuously occupied military post in America.

Duties

Serves as working leader of employees in accomplishing custodial service tasks. Works under the supervision of a Custodial Services Supervisor who issues instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines, and relies on the incumbent to assure that work assignments are carried out by other members of the group. Advises other employees to follow supervisors' instructions and to meet deadlines. As Lead assigns tasks to be performed by individual members of the group. As Lead assigns tasks to be performed by individual members of the group. Operates a motor vehicle to transport employees, equipment and supplies to and from work site.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
• Incumbent must report for and/or remain on duty during inclement weather.
• Must submit to a drug test prior to appointment and random drug testing while occupying this position.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
