This position serves as a Community Engagement Officer, for the Office of Airports (ARP), in the Regional Airports Divisions. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling the ARP related activities necessary to deliver an effective community outreach program primarily in support of ARP objectives and the Regional Administrator's Office. The incumbent provides similar noise related support to other ARP regions located within their respective Service Areas.
Duties
The Community Engagement Officer (CEO) is a recognized subject matter expert in airport noise and provides leadership and technical support for highly complex and challenging activities under minimal direction of a manager or executive. Identifies and resolves challenging problems or issues that often cross organizational boundaries and impact on the accomplishment of strategic objectives.

- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the FV-J level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Experience in managing, briefing and coordinating community outreach activities and at least one of the following. 2) Experience in explaining policies pertaining to the environmental evaluation of airport projects under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). 3) Experience in explaining policies pertaining to noise compatibility (Title 14 CFR Part 150) requirements to the public. 4) Experience in explaining policies pertaining to airport access (Title 14 CFR Part 161) requirements.Eligible applicants meeting the minimum qualification requirements and selective factor(s), if applicable, may be further evaluated on the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA) listed in the announcement.
