This position is located in the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection, Consumer and Community Affairs Branch, Strategic Partnership and Program Development  Section, of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of managing projects that cross organizational and jurisdictional lines and involve multiple regions and external relationships.  

Duties

Performs complex technical assignments with significant potential impact embracing all areas of emerging community development and economic inclusion strategies and programs requiring top-level consideration. This includes performing assignments related to the broad program development and strategic management activities associated with community and economic development, researching and suggesting solutions to technical and program management problems, and preparing necessary implementing documents such as white papers, options papers, guidance and case studies. Prepares strategic plans establishing short and long-term objectives to meet program and Division goals, Evaluates the desirability and cost of existing and proposed plans, organization, and program objectives through studies approved by the Section Chief, Branch Chief and Deputy Director or Director for DCP.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 14 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience analyzing programs, reviewing best practices, developing written strategic plans and leading collaborative initiatives to promote community development, economic inclusion and access to credit and financial services for low- and moderate-income consumers, small businesses and disadvantaged communities. Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.

There is no substitution of education for the experience for this position.
