About the Position: Incumbent will serve as mobilization and deployment plans and computer support specialist for the Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) facility. Incumbent will plan, organize and perform operational duties associated with mobilization of Reserve Component (RC) units and deployment of Active Duty (AC) and (RC) units. This position is located in Fort Knox, KY.
Duties
Plan, organize and perform operational duties associated with mobilization of Reserve Component (RC) units and deployment of Active Duty (AC) and (RC) units.
Manage the SRP facility personnel processing systems and provide data reports to validate readiness.
Plan, prepare, publish and continually update personnel related mobilization and deployment plans, policies and procedures.
Ensure plans are effective and provide complete instructions for the deployment of AC units and mobilization and deployment of RC units at Fort Knox.
Draft and recommend objectives, policies, procedures and techniques for evaluating the effectiveness of deployment readiness processing.
Requirements
- 25% or less temporary duty travel may be required.
- U.S. Citizenship is required. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.
- This position is designated as a Key Position and in accordance with (IAW) AR 690-11 and shall not be vacated during national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
- A one-year trial period may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) planning, preparing, publishing and continually updating personnel related mobilization and deployment plans, policies and procedures ; 2) preparing briefings and information papers on deployment and mobilization operations; 3) developing recommendations to resolve a wide variety of substantive problems related to mobilization and deployment planning and deployment processing systems.

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
