As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.Serves as the Deputy Assistant Chief Counsel for the International Affairs & National Security Law Division (AGC-700).

Duties

Provides direct oversight of all aspects of legal services in support of the agency on international aviation and national security law matters. In conjunction with, or on behalf of, the Assistant Chief Counsel for AGC-700, incumbent serves as FAA's expert legal authority on international aviation legal matters with various organizations, foreign countries, other Government agencies, and industry. The Deputy Assistant Chief Counsel manages a geographically disbursed staff, including two team managers who provide legal support for FAA emergency operations, cyber-security, and legal policy guidance and all matters related to international aviation. Reports directly to the Assistant Chief Counsel for AGC-700.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, all applicants MUST meet the following criteria:(1) have a JD Degree from an accredited law school;(2) be admitted to practice before the bar of any U.S. jurisdiction or within the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico;(3) be an active member of that bar; and(4) demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year (52 weeks) of SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE equivalent to the FV-J/K or GS-14/15 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the position.
