You will serve as a SECURITY ASSISTANT (OFFICE AUTOMATION) in the Visitor Control Center (Pass & ID) of NSA BETHESDA SECURITY DETACHMENT.
Duties
You will verify positive identification of each person seeking a security access badge by reviewing driver's licenses, Common Access Cards (CAC), military identification cards, or state issued identification cards.
You will manage the automated access control system to ensure control of restricted areas of buildings.
You will prepare correspondence, forms, reports, requisitions, or statistical data to include attaching required supplemental material.
You will discuss information to make recommendations for resolving security problems or issues.
You will conduct criminal history background checks on potential visitors to the installation.
You will issue passes and identification credentials for access to the installation.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Using office automation equipment and software to perform a variety of administrative tasks and draft documents in accordance with outlined regulations and procedures; 2) Providing regional parking management, policy and procedures concerning visitor control, base access control, law enforcement, and pass and identification services to commands, federal employees, and members of the public. 3) Preparing, issuing, tracking, and coordinating security access badges, visitor badges, as well as incoming and outgoing visit requests and parking needs; 4) Inspecting and monitoring electronic parking systems to ensure proper functionality; providing parking data analysis that identifies and prevents the reoccurrence of traffic and parking problems.
