The primary purpose of this position is to process reassignment actions for non-prior service student enlisted personnel and serves as final clerical reviewer.
Duties
Processes all actions required for permanent change of station (PCS) or permanent change of assignment (PCA) for non-prior service student personnel
Oversees significant aspects of the student assignments program
Updates and inquires against the Military Personnel Data System (MilPDS)
Coordinates directly with AFPC and MAJCOM assignment managers to validate and resolve assignment criteria issues
Uses multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents, formats, etc., pertaining to the military relocation, separation, and retirement program

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, 0203 Series.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-4, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include substantive clerical or procedural work in support of Army Military Personnel Section and support such as assignment, enlistment, reenlistment, promotion, awards, official passports, performance evaluation, routine boards, separation, or similar matters and performs a substantive review of records to determine eligibility for actions.

EDUCATION: Applicants have successfully completed four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Applicants have a combination of experience and education as described. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of a standardized body of military personnel regulations and procedures relating to military separations and retirements, of the format, content, and uses of the military personnel record, and of the procedures and requirements regarding its maintenance
Knowledge of military organizational structure, protocol, and similar matters
Knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedures. Knowledge of the military personnel automated system and various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs
Skill in typing; a qualified typist is required
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and maintain effective working relationships
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
