THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1901000 and is part of the IL USPFO, National Guard.

Duties

As a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32), GS-2005-5/6/7, you will provide storage and distribution, cataloging or supply identification systems, property utilization or other related supply activities including those associated with automated or manual supply accounting systems. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Manage supply activities to include support of inventory control, storage, distribution, cataloging, supply identification systems, property utilization, and other related activities using both Standard Army Management Information Systems (STAMIS) and non-STAMIS systems. Analyze requests to ensure items being ordered are authorized. Process all requests for local purchases, including those for items listed within standard supply classes. Coordinate information with program managers and units to assist with formulating budgets. Coordinate payments to GSA, prime vendor, and local vendors by Government Purchase Card. Process requests for operation rations, including commercial subsistence and commercial meals, requests for cash meal payment books and validate cash meal payment book transactions, annually, with units. Reconcile purchase requests for fuel, validate bulk fuel reports, process monthly Voyager credit card reports, issue new Voyager credit cards to unit and process transactions for turn in of expired or damaged Voyager credit cards. Process requests from unit for medical supplies (CL VIII) validating all medical supply requests against unit formularies. Process monthly reports regarding commodity management, including transaction error reports, manager's review file, performance standard reports, overage reports, and other related supply discrepancy reports. Review and update the ASL, considering demand history, anticipated consumption, turnover rates, future requirements solicited from MACOMS, total package fielding, special projects, and funds availability. Manage supply transactions based on dollar limitations, status of Obligation Authority, consumer funds, coordinating with requisitioning activity and the source of supply. Manage excess supplies and equipment IAW USPFO procedures to determine the appropriate disposition. Develop reports to ensure that adequate and accurate information is provided.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence, The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees. The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible. The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership. The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens. Military Grades: Enlisted - May not exceed E7 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered and experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07 Level- Must possess specialized experience which includes at least 12 months experience, education, or training which demonstrates a thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment; experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstructing records for complex supply transactions and/or providing supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, or parts; experience performing routine aspects of supply work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management. GS-06 Level- Must possess specialized experience which includes at least 9 months experience, education, or training which demonstrates knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment; experience conducting searches for required information; reconstructing records for routine supply transactions and/or providing supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts; experience performing routine aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management. GS-05 Level- Must possess specialized experience which includes at least 6 months experience, education, or training which demonstrates knowledge of standardized supply regulations, policies, procedures, or other instructions relating to the specific functions assigned; experience that demonstrates knowledge of one or more automated supply databases to enter and retrieve recurring reports; experience using working knowledge of the structure of a supply organization and the organizations serviced. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience

One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience for GS-5 positions.
