Duties
Serves on the Joint Requirements Council Chairman's Staff. The Joint Requirements Council (JRC) is an SES level body that advances the goals and objectives set forth by the DHS Secretary by building a more unified and operationally effective and efficient organization through the creation of a component-driven joint requirements process.
The JRC governs all requirement efforts, and provides the DMAG with recommendations for investment, as well as changes to training, organization, laws, and operational processes and procedures.
You will perform the following duties while on this DETAIL:
Works with management and officials at multiple levels of DHS, leadership of other Federal, State, and Local government agencies, Private Sector clients and Vendors on DHS matters related to JRC portfolio analysis
Provide development and awareness of decisional needs, functional capacity and data resources to help deliver relevant and timely risk analysis.
Initiates the development of products ranging from those that detail strategic risk considerations to those that detail planning support to homeland security operations.
Prepare communication materials, briefings, presentations and share information with key stakeholders
Provide high-quality, prompt recommendations and risk analysis support to stakeholders and decision makers according to their time-lines
Provide the development of analysis and products to define and shape alternatives for establishing effective strategies, defining strategic capability requirements, determining programming priorities, informing acquisition decisions and sharing resource allocation decisions within the context of JRC processes.
Requirements
- Must be a current permanent Federal employee
- Must have supervisory approval to apply to the Joint Duty Assignment. DHS 250-2 Application Form under "required documents" section.
- Must NOT have any pending/outstanding disciplinary actions
- Must have achieved a minimum of "meet expectations/proficiency" on latest performance appraisal/evaluation
- Must be currently at the grade level of the detail. *No Temporary Promotion Opportunity*
- The program does not apply to members of the Military service or contractors.

Qualifications required:
Ability to communicate with high level officials
Ability to prioritize and manage effectively
Ability to communicate orally and in writing
Experience in program management
Knowledge of risk management principles (ability to create risk analysis/assessments)
