About the Position: This is a Security Guard, GS-0085-06 position located at Tooele Army Depot, Law Enforcement & Security Division, Tooele, UT.
This is a Public Notice for positions being filled under the Direct Hiring Authority (DHA) for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and Major Range and Test Facilities Base, NDAA 1125 (a) and (c).
Duties
Guard and patrol, on foot or by vehicle, controlled and limited security areas.
Protect persons, property, and security information against hazards such as fire, espionage, trespass, theft, and accidental or willful
Ensure buildings are secure and there are no safety or security deficiencies, and initiate the proper action to correct problems.
Assist local authorities in the event of an emergency situation by setting up road blocks, investigate accidents, enforce motor vehicle regulations, and direct traffic.
Monitor the radio networks, maintain logs of patrol and events happening during shift.
Utilize extraordinary security measures and special knowledge and skills to protect arms and ammunition and other materials potentially hazardous to the health and safety of the public.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Subject to random drug testing.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- Must pass an annual physical agility test and weapons proficiency.
- Initial and annual physical exam required.
- Must be able to work 12-hour shifts.
- This position comes within the Commander's Individual Reliability Program (IRP) for arms and ammunition and is required to meet the constraints of the program outlined in AR 190-11.
- This position is covered by the 1996 LAUTENBERG AMENDMENT TO THE GUN CONTROL ACT OF 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position.
- Required to wear prescribed uniform and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
