Duties
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new, first of its kind, cross-Department coordination center, working collaboratively throughout DHS to advance this critical mission set.
Under the direction of the Victim Protection Section Chief, manage important law enforcement association stakeholder engagement to further promote requests of Continued Presence.
Work with law enforcement associations to provide them with upcoming training registration, newly published resources, conference presentation proposals and presenters, and relevant content for their websites, newsletters, and other media vehicles to reach their members.
Collaborate with law enforcement associations to determine the best ways in which their members can be informed about Continued Presence.
Coordinate CCHT participation in law enforcement association conferences.
Maintain points of contacts and excellent working relationships with each identified law enforcement association.
Develop a Continued Presence stakeholder engagement SOP to ensure continuity of the CCHT/association relationship.
Requirements
- Must be a current permanent Federal employee
- Must have supervisory approval to apply to the Joint Duty Assignment. DHS 250-2 Application Form under "required documents" section.
- Must NOT have any pending/outstanding disciplinary actions
- Must have achieved a minimum of "meet expectations/proficiency" on latest performance appraisal/evaluation
- Must be currently at the grade level of the detail. *No Temporary Promotion Opportunity*
- The program does not apply to members of the Military service or contractors.
Qualifications
Qualifications required:
Experience with building successful stakeholder relationships, preferably within law enforcement.
Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
Ability to work independently on stakeholder engagement and as part of the broader Continued Presence team.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
