This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Information Systems Division, Arlington, VA.
This position(s) primary purpose is directly responsible for the delivery of customer support services, including installation, troubleshooting, user assistance and/or training.
Duties
As a Project Support Specialist, your typical work assignments may include:
Reviewing information, reconciles conflicting data, and devises new or modified methods to analyze findings.
Providing assistance to staff in evaluating new IT developments and studies, monitors action items and special projects.
Analyzing vendor payments are accomplished in compliance with pertinent laws and regulations.
Providing day to day coordination and guidance of programs involving Information Technology (IT) services in the Customer Service Unit.
Collecting reference material identified in proposed new policies.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all of the required qualification requirements described below by the closing of this announcement.

Applicants applying for the GS-301-11 must meet one of the following requirements:
You may qualify at the GS-11 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: I have one year of experience (equivalent to at least the GS-09 level or pay band in the Federal service) that includes performing the following duties: 1) Using and applying sensitive state-of-the art telecommunications equipment, applications, and computer systems that are used to track, monitor, and intercept radio and digital data signals for active surveillance; 2) Configuring, installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment; 3) Planning and coordinating technical operations requiring covert tactics and strategies to maintain anonymity during criminal investigations; and, 4) Evaluating new or prototype telecommunication systems, computer applications, or other technologies before utilizing them into agency operations.
OR
Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
