You will serve as the Regional Integrated Prevention Coordinator position located at Regional Fleet and Family Support Programs, Warfighter Family Readiness (J9), Joint Region Marianas Guam.

Duties

You will provide programmatic oversight of all components of the Integrated Prevention Workforce (IPW) within the Region. You will be responsible for planning, managing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating training, education, and outreach for integrated primary prevention programs implemented at the Region and installation levels. You will address problematic/destructive behaviors, including, but not limited to, suicide, sexual harassment, sexual assault, substance misuse, family and interpersonal violence, workplace violence, and military equal opportunity. You will develop and present findings, reports or recommendations to analysts, employees, managers inside or outside of the organization, agency heads or other high-ranking officials. You will Ensures any relevant certification inspection and other program policy standards are met. You will resolve problems and develop approaches or methods for utilization within the Region.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport. May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
  • Work is performed in normal office settings, classrooms, and shipboard or waterfront environments.
  • You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
  • Incumbent must comply with safety standards identified in the various work environments such as safety equipment, safety shoes, hardhat, eye and hearing protection, etc.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • Obtain and maintain a current state drivers license to facilitate travel to training and to coordinate tasks/actions with clients, command and military and civilian agencies within the local area of the Region.
  • Work of the position is primarily sedentary. Attendance at meetings involves either walking or driving to and from various buildings
  • Occasional lifting up to 20lbs may be required. Incumbent may be required to conduct business in a shipboard environment as well as a shore-based office.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: serving as an advisor and technical prevention expert to military leader and installation prevention personnel, help establish prevention activities and programs at installations and within commands; identify new programs and leverage existing capabilities to establish a Region-wide prevention system that facilities data-informed actions to integrate primary prevention activities, coordinate with stakeholders, measure impact, and adjust programs based on resulting data; using prevention knowledge and experience to develop, evaluate, and assess prevention approaches that can help the military reduce suicide, sexual violence and other harmful behaviors. Education

Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual. Applicants must possess:

Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

or

Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

or

Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
