This position is for a SUPPORT SERVICES SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D2223000 located at the 202 EIS, Robins AFB, Georgia.
This is a full-time, Excepted Temporary Indefinite, dual status position which requires Georgia Army National Guard Membership. Position is Indefinite however, may convert to permanent without further competition.
Area of Consideration: Open to current members of the Georgia Air National Guard.
Duties
As a Support Services Specialist, gs-0342-09, you will:
Plan, direct, and coordinate the unit administrative functions. Provide administrative assistance, guidance, and support to all functions including guidance from higher headquarters. Direct forms management, documentation management, and publication management. Implement procedures for manual and electronic creation, control, coordination, dissemination, and disposal of administrative communications. Establish and maintain offices of records. Apply file cutoff procedures and dispose of and retrieve records. Operate and manage automated Records Information Management System (RIMS). Operate and manage a records staging area for inactive records storage. Servs as the Functional Area Records Manager (FARM) and acts as a consultant to all other functional and documentation managers on how filing systems are maintained and the organizations requirements for retention or disposal of the records. Conduct staff assistance visit, review, and evaluate inspection findings, irregularities and deficiencies. Establish internal processing procedures for receipt, suspense and redistribution of incoming communications plus monitors outgoing correspondence and reports. Receive, route, control, and distribute incoming and outgoing classified and unclassified mail and materials to include electronic messages; maintain and provide reference services from centralized files containing operational and policy material. Perform inspections and surveys of all offices of record and insure compliance with the Air Force Documentation Program. Comply with Privacy Act (PA) and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) procedures and aid to ensure others comply. Manage unit PA, FOIA, and records management program and training. Operate Base Information Transfer System and Official Mail Center using manual and automated systems.
Manage forms development, design, control, storage and dissemination. Provide guidance and issue supplemental policies, plans, and procedures to ensure forms meet prescribed style, and format, in accordance with appropriate Air Force Instruction (AFI), United States Code and Public Law. Annually review all local forms to ascertain those no longer required or replaced by higher authority forms. Manage electronic and manual publications development, design, control, storage, and dissemination to include Technical Orders (TO). Provide guidance to ensure local publications meet prescribed style, format, and legal and statutory requirements. Ensure that publications are issued in the appropriate publications media and proper formats prescribed in governing directives, and that supplements are issued if required. Ensure that local publications do not duplicate or conflict with higher authority issuances. Review drafts of publications for essentiality. Edit, number, and prepare local publications for reproduction.
Perform Client Support Administrator (CSA) information systems and technology support functions. Manage hardware and software. Perform the configuration, management, and initial diagnostics of information systems. Coordinate and documents information systems repairs. Perform system diagnostics and determine the cause of hardware and software failures. Remove and replace components and peripherals to restore system operation. Install and configure software operating systems and applications. Provide customer service to assist in operation, restoration, and configuration of information systems. Develop and implement unit web sites and pages. Manage and assist others in content management of web sites and pages. Prepare and process information systems requirements to support mission needs. Monitor and manage information system security programs. Report security incidents and formulates and applies corrective security procedures.
Maintain unit attendance records and the notification and counseling of military members concerning requirements and the consequences of failure to satisfactorily participate. Monitor unsatisfactory participation and notify members of summary court martial. Manage unit workday program. Responsible for processing, publishing, distributing and maintaining annual training, Active Guard/Reserve (AGR) and inactive duty orders for unit. .
Manage the unit's database and locator information of each unit member's home of record and phone numbers to ensure members are contacted quickly and effectively, when needed. Manage various unit programs such as, the Self-Inspection Program; Information Assurance Awareness Program (IAAP) to include its training as required; Telephone Monitoring and Protection (TMAP) program; and the Government Travel Card (GTC) program to include Computer Based Training (CBT). Issue and maintain control log for DoD vehicle registration program and perform Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) Custodian duties.

- NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training in administrative, professional, technical, or other work that provided knowledge of support services. Knowledge of administrative methods and procedures used in planning, organizing work, and skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience in dealing with management principles and supervisory responsibility for support services functions required by type of position to be filled and the organization involved. Experience planning and directing a variety of clerical operations. Experience using methods and procedural steps, and working under general instructions to meet the objectives of support services program.
Education
Substitution of Education for specialized experience - Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements. One full academic year of graduate-level education is creditable for GS-7; 2 years or a master's or equivalent graduate degree is creditable for GS-9; and 3 years or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree is creditable for GS-11.
