You will serve as a RIGGING WORKER in the FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHEAST, FACILITY & INFRASTRUCTURE MGMT DEPT, FACILITY & PLANT MAINT DIV of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.
Duties
You will complete difficult and complex rigging operations.
You will make difficult load routing judgements by considering such factors as size, shape, and location of the object, availability and strength of overhead support structures, surface conditions, obstacles and size of surrounding openings.
You will operate forklifts, small crafts, and other motorized equipment to make precise moves while maneuvering loads over and into industrial areas with limited clearances.
You will move and place items in small or confined areas.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current MHE operator's license certification
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Select and install weight-handling gear for objects to be moved by cranes or other mobile material equipment.
Use equipment such as chain calls, tackle blocks or combinations of equipment to rig and move objects in areas where cranes and mobile handling equipment cannot be used.
Use proper hand signals to guide crane operators and equipment operators in hoisting, moving and lowering loads into locations.
Plan, layout, assemble and install rigging gear to move various objects such as pumps, air compressors, and machine tools with the aid of cranes or other mobile equipment material handling equipment.
