Duties

Serve as the principal assistant to the Secretary of the General Staff (SGS) and Administrative Officer to the Chief of Staff, U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC). Responsible for the conduct of SGS/Command Group business with the command principal staff, major subordinate and lateral commands, and higher headquarters. Provide instruction/guidance to the USARPAC staff relating to policies and Command Group administrative procedures. Provide administrative assistance and coordination to assigned/attached general officers working in the USARPAC area of operations. Manage multiple Command calendars and scheduling across multiple classifications. Serve as the Approving/Billing Official for the USARPAC SGS and Command Group Government Purchase Card (GPC).

Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes performing administrative functions including tracking and assigning suspenses or tasks; analyzing administrative processes to make recommendations on process improvements; utilizing automated systems to submit and store personnel information to be used in statistical reports for tracking purposes; and reviewing and interpreting administrative policies, and procedures to develop administrative program guidance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of administrative and technical programs; developing and implementing administrative policies and procedures to facilitate the preparation, submission, and control of correspondence; managing multiple Command Calendars and scheduling across multiple classifications; and reviewing and interpreting administrative policies, and procedures to develop administrative program guidance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementAttention to DetailOrganizational AwarenessTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement GS-11: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). Time in Grade Requirement GS-12: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
