You will serve as a SUPERVISORY TRAINING SPECIALIST in the Operations and Training Department (G-3), Training Division, Marine Corps Recruit Depot/Eastern Recruiting Region of MCRD ERR PI SC.

Duties

You will be responsible for oversight and management of training requirements and standards, programs of instruction, curriculum development, course training schedules, projection plans, and the utilization of training information management systems. You will manage training and education programs in accordance with instructional system designs and system approaches to training and education You will establish procedures for applying policy in instructional design, development, and evaluation of full-length courses of instruction. You will analyze and evaluate training and education as they relate to command mission requirements, and make recommendations for changes in policy, procedures, program processes, techniques, and systems. You will plan, coordinate, direct, evaluate and administer all matters pertaining to education, training policy, and doctrine. You will identify, evaluate, and recommend training system enhancements as required to support the training processes. You will include current training and education technology, classroom presentation technology, testing technology, and instructor and student learning aids. You will gather training and education information, identify, and analyze issues, and develop recommendations to resolve substantive problems/issues. You will use management principles and processes, organizational programs and organizational relationships, program goals and objectives, to sequence the timing of key operational events.

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card with travel and purchase authority.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position is subject to Recall to Duty outside of normal work hours.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience teaching/instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, or college in the appropriate field. Specialized experience must demonstrate supervising or administering a formal training or education program; developing curriculum, course materials, training aids, devices, and evaluation of training results; and work that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
