This position is located in a State or Area Office in USDA/Rural Development (RD). The incumbent deals with loans either made or guaranteed by the government and grants for very small commercial loans and grants. This position may be eligible for hiring incentives. This position is neither remote nor virtual. The employee will be expected to report in person to the assigned duty location.

Duties

Reviews and analyzes preapplications, applications and all supporting documents to determine loan or grant eligibility and inputs data into appropriate automated database system. Prepares written loan/grant recommendations and submits to supervisor for review. Provides a wide variety of servicing actions for assigned less difficult loan cases. Works with a program specialist and/or supervisor in the development and implementation of an outreach and marketing program for the servicing area

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. For the GS-09 grade level: Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07; or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates: experience in performing loan making and/or loan servicing duties such as regularly examining loan applications, supporting documents and credit reports, and maintaining servicing activities of somewhat complex loans and/or grants; assisting higher level loan specialists by performing assigned portions of financial credit analysis in connection with more complex loans as a way of acquiring training and competency for more difficult loan examining and servicing assignments OR master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Equivalent combination of education and experience are qualifying for this grade level. NOTE: To be considered for this position, you must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements for the GS-1165 series set forth in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards by the closing date of the announcement.
