Duties
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, BOEM, Pacific Region, Office of the Regional located in Camarillo, CA.
At the full performance level (GS-13) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Overall planning, direction, development and execution of the Region's operating budget and administrative matters, generally in close coordination with other Regional management and staff.
Coordinates long-range budget plans, including development of budget initiatives and coordination of Regional objectives with the environmental objectives of other BOEM organizational units to enhance achievement of goals and objectives.
Interprets Departmental budget guidance and Congressional legislation to ensure compliance with changes in Administrative or Federal direction.
Develops policy changes to meet appropriation or other budgetary requirement changes.
Makes recommendations and/or commitments concerning the distribution of budgeted funds.
Develops and coordinates budget estimates and justifications making sure that funds are used in accordance with the operating budget and financial plan.
BOEM has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
Salary Information
GS-13: $120,246 - $156,323 per annum. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.
This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series to which you are applying.
Specialized Experience
To qualify for the GS-13, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: Must meet all.
Providing budget projections, funding requirements, execution, program performance evaluations and articulating recommendations to senior-level officials;
Preparing, reviewing and justifying budget requests/proposals; and
Developing solutions to complex and difficult problems and making recommendations to Senior management.
