About the Position: This position is located with the National Guard Bureau Joint Staff, NGB-J6, C4 Systems and CIO Directorate, Arlington, Virginia.
About the Surrounding Area: Situated in Northern Virginia on the south bank of the Potomac River directly across from Washington D.C. Arlington is headquarters to many departments and agencies of the federal government, including the Department of Defense and is the location of many national memorials and museums.
Duties
Serve as the technical expert on matters concerning command, control, and computers/information (C4/IM) requirements.
Administer Information Technology (IT) strategic planning, capital management, investment control, architecture and infrastructure planning and management, and information security.
Interpret and analyze changes to business processes or programs, by investigating and analyzing a variety of unusual problems or conditions associated with information systems requirements and resources.
Respond to inquiries and provide support to National Guard users at all levels of management concerning state of the art products to include computer hardware, telecommunication services, and audio visual systems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Level 2 IAM(Information Assurance Technical)/IAT(Information Assurance Management) Certification required within 8 months of employment.
- Must achieve the foundational qualification requirements within 9 months of assignment to this position, in accordance with DoDI 8140.02
- Must also achieve the resident qualification requirements within 12 months of assignment to this position, in accordance with DoDI 8140.02.
