You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the FLEET READINESS CENTER SE of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.

Duties

You will create innovative public affairs plans for campaigns and unique approaches to enhance public understanding and appreciation of the command’s mission, its accomplishments and contributions in support of the nation’s military forces. You will develop and direct an internal command information program to enhance the knowledge and understanding of the FRCSE workforce regarding the link between their day-to-day duties and aviation readiness You will prepares speeches, all hands messages, employee guides and multimedia presentations for the commanding officer and senior staff. You will work with internal leadership to develop analytical tools to identify problems that require public affairs and marketing attention

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1). Clearly and effectively articulate, present, and promote varied ideas and issues (including sensitive or controversial topics) before a wide range of audiences. 2) Make clear and convincing oral presentations as well as listen effectively to clarify and fully understand information. 3) Expert abilities in both oral and written communication skills, using correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. 4) Express thoughts persuasively and within the public affairs domain and develop audio, visual and assorted multimedia products that meet the needs of the position's organization and its external audiences. 5) Perform internal assessments to judge the effectiveness of the organization's public affairs program as well as effectively and efficiently communicate to leadership, staff counterparts, the general workforce, and senior and subordinate organizations. 6) Oversee a diverse set of public affairs activities and supervise the employees who perform a wide array of public affairs functions. 7) Skilled in the Department of Navy-related personnel management for effective performance in this position.
