Incumbent Serves as the Program Implementation Manager for Programs related to the establishment, modernization, sustainment, and operation of the National Airspace System (NAS) facilities and equipment in support of Facility and Equipment (F&E) and Operations (Ops) funded programs. Collaborates and coordinates with team members, stakeholders and program offices on development and performance of project scope, schedule and budget.

Duties

Independently applies experience and advance technical knowledge to integrate configuration management and safety management system requirements into project planning. Serves as a focal point for Headquarters program offices on implementation issues to include funding, waterfall schedules, and NAS equipment ordering. Makes tactical decisions during program implementation to manage projects with scope, schedule, and budget. Applies project management expertise and organization knowledge when communication program and project status to organizations internal and external to the FAA.

• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level of FV-I or FG/GS-13. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized aviation technical knowledge, skills, and abilities, and project management skills are required.Specialized experience is Technical experience involving operation, installation or establishment of the National Airspace System components, facilities or electronic systems and one or more of the following:1. Experience with Project management in NAS related programs on projects involving acquisition, deployment, sustainment, and improvement of facilities.2. Experience in Aviation Technical Knowledge gained through experience in the design, development, deployment, or performance evaluation of systems or facilities that support the NAS.3. In Addition: Experience in design, project management or construction administration of projects or programs in military or other public or private sector infrastructure development efforts. Relevant projects include large, complex developments with multiple stakeholders.***Project Management Professional certification desired.***
