As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.Serves as a Quality Control Group Manager within the Western Service Center, AJV-W100

Duties

The incumbent of this position directs the work of subordinate employees and managers for the Quality Control Group within the Air Traffic Organization, Western Service Center. Provides inspections, evaluations, safety risk management, accident and incident information gathering and reporting, and safety initiatives to ATO Service Units and other FAA organizations to align with and support FAA safety objectives. Conducts technical evaluations for both Federal and non-Federal facilities and equipment with the Service Area identifying relevant trends in runway safety and Flight Plan safety goals. Designated as the central point of contact for the Service Area on EOSH to coordinate requirements from OSHA and other Federal agencies within the Service Area. Serves as the central point of contact for all quality assurance initiatives identifying level of performance and effectiveness for the Service Area. Provides oversight and implementation guidance to all ATO facilities in implementing assigned initiatives. Keeps Service Director apprised on the status of all investigations. Provides technical oversight for facilities for accident and incident reporting, delivers information as required for litigation support, and executes operational management evaluations for facilities within the Service Area.

• A one-year supervisor/managerial probationary period may be required.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-K or FG/GS-15 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience will include experience in directing work of subordinate employees and/or managers or multiple organizational units/projects/programs and across multiple function and/or disciplines.This specialized experience may also have been acquired through functions such as: acquisition. deployment, and implementation of NAS programs and systems; operation and maintenance functions in field facilities: and evaluation and performance functions in field facilities, regional/service area offices, and/or headquarters. Experience with reimbursable agreements, aviation planning, operations and business plans, program manager, air traffic control operations, and aviation-related financial planning.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.
