This position is located in the Office of Development (the Office), Office of the Chief of Staff, Office of the Librarian of Congress. This is a non-supervisory, bargaining unit position. The position description number for this position is 453003 The incumbent for this position will work a flextime work schedule.

Duties

The incumbent of this position will serve as the Program Specialist, working under the supervision of the Director of Development, with responsibility for supporting program directors to produce written content for proposals, marketing, foundation reports, and other online and printed materials. The incumbent will also research and recommend donor outreach strategies, assist with event planning, and tracking program activities.

Qualifications

Applicants must have had progressively responsible experience and training sufficient in scope and quality to furnish them with an acceptable level of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position without more than normal supervision.Knowledge of fundraising principles.**  Ability to plan, coordinate, direct and organize support activities.** Ability to conduct research.** Ability to communicate in writing.**  Ability to provide consultation, outreach, and liaison services.  Ability to communicate effectively other than writing.
