A GS-0201-9, HR SPEC:
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Experience analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gathering pertinent data, and recognize solutions; plan and organize work; and communicate effectively orally and in writing. Experiences gained through military or civilian technical training schools, within the human resources business programs, are included as general experience qualifications. An applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-07 level or at least 24 months of experience which provided a basic working knowledge of National Guard missions, organizations, and personnel programs. Must have a basic knowledge and experiences of personnel programs gained in a classroom or as an on-the-job trainee. Have knowledge-based competency of human resources business elements and can discuss terminology, concepts, principles, and issues related to this competency. Experienced in using references and resource materials and experienced in program functions such as, maintaining personnel records, counseling, or classification and assignments. Experiences may include performing personnel functions associated with preparing and maintaining position descriptions and manual records, personnel classification or usage, quality force management, managing personnel records and researching record data. Experienced in operating a computer and using varied computer programs.
*Knowledge of Line of Duty policy and procedures
*Knowledge of the Incapacitation Pay program and ability to calculate military pay.
*Familiar with IPPS-A transactions, DAMPS, iPERMS and RCAS.
*Knowledge of the following regulations AR 40-501, AR 600-8-4, AR 135-381, AR 40-58
*Knowledge of separation procedures and processing to include retirement and medical separations.
*Knowledgeable with AR 25-50 and utilization of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word and Power-point
*Understanding of the physical profile system
*Understanding of AR 40-66 Medical Records Administration
Education
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
