This is a permanent position that is located in the Civil Division, Office of Human Resources. The office is seeking a collaborative and knowledgeable supervisory human resources specialist to work in a fast-paced HR environment. The ideal candidate for this position is an excellent leader, self-motivated and applies a variety of advanced human resources principles, concepts, methods and practices to plan and deliver human resources information services and guidance.
Duties
As a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist GS-0201-15, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Serving as the Assistant Director Human Resources, Executive Resources and Special Programs.
Providing advisory services to Division manager all Human Resource areas to include recruitment, staffing, performance management and awards.
Performing the full range of administrative and personnel management functions for the staff supervised.
Providing briefings, training, and seminars, as required, on operational aspects of HR management in the Division.
Serving as a technical expert to the Director Human Resources, Executive Officer, and senior Division management on difficult issues involving the areas for which responsible.
Evaluating the Executive Resources Program and provides recommendations to the Director Human Resources to improve and streamline operations that best serve the Division's interests.
Administering the Division's executive level recruitment program.
Providing analysis and advice to the successful candidates regarding their Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) prior to submission to OPM's Qualifications Review Board (QRB).
Drafting announcements regarding the annual Attorney General Awards, Division Awards, and other miscellaneous non-monetary awards.

Requirements
- You must be a United States Citizen or National.
- You must successfully undergo a suitability check.
- You must be a current Federal employee within the Department of Justice on a Competitive Service appointment.
- You must meet all applicable time-in-grade requirements by the closing of this announcement.
- You may have to complete a one year supervisory probationary period.
Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Assistant Director), (GS-0201-15), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade.
If you are a current Department of Justice employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade.
To qualify for the GS-15 Supervisory Human Resources Specialist position. you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 performing such duties as: Directing and implementing a Division's executive resource program; providing recruitment and staffing for Senior Executive Service (SES) and Senior Level (SL) positions; providing human resource services for political appointments; overseeing the participation and use of the DOJ Honors Program, Summer law Intern Program and Volunteer Legal Intern program; and providing technical support for the Division's non-monetary award program.
