Duties
Serve as Cybersecurity Specialist/Communications Security (COMSEC) Manager responsible for oversight of COMSEC material used to secure communications data, and for conducting and supporting cybersecurity technology and system reviews.
Initiate all required incident reports for violations of COMSEC policies and procedures; recommends appropriate corrective/remedial action as required.
Serve as the primary Key Management Infrastructure Operating Account Manager (KOAM), providing critical support in meeting essential mission objectives.
Oversee daily operations and manage the program acquisitions, receipt, storage, inventory, transfer, and destruction of all classified COMSEC material, to include cryptographic key and controlled cryptographic items.
As a Client Platform Administrator (CPA), responsible for establishing and assigning platform user accounts, operating system maintenance, and updates on KMI system.

- Security Requirements: Required to obtain, maintain a Top Secret clearance with access to SCI and Special Access Programs (SAPs); including submitting to background checks as a condition of employment and continued access to Special Access Programs.
- Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination, where reciprocity cannot be applied; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal.

Qualifications
To qualify for an IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC) your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
GS-12:
Serving in a position with COMSEC responsibilities, such as handling, issuing, or destroying COMSEC materials and equipment.
Conducting inspections and/or training on security procedures for COMSEC.
GS-13:
Serving in a position with responsibility for managing and overseeing a COMSEC program.
Conducting and supporting cybersecurity technology and system reviews.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Physical Demands
The work requires regular and recurring physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking over rough or uneven surfaces, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching and recurring lifting of light to moderately heavy items (15 pounds or more).
Work Environment
The work is primarily in an office setting, however, regular and recurring work involving inspections involve exposure to the following: moving parts, carts or machines at construction or other work sites where equipment is being installed and/or removed. Inspections work requires hardhats, safety shoes, or similar protections when exposed to moderate risks or discomfort which require special safety precautions such as wearing protective clothing or gear such as boots, goggles, gloves, boots/shoes, or shields.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
