You will serve as a Engineering Equipment Operator Supervisor in the Production Division, PWD Maine of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will plan work schedules and operations on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. You will make routine decision regarding execution of policy and procedures, and to react to variations in the workplace. You will perform all of the same types of duties as those assigned to his subordinates, which duties range from operating a truck, excavating, snow plowing, grader, and/or bulldozer. You will consult with planning personnel regarding funds and with other supervisors to coordinate work. You will assure that plans, blueprints, material, tools and equipment are available. You will determine the sequence and priority of work to be accomplished and inspects, spot checks work in progress, particularly when unusual scope, cost, or public relations are involved, ensuring that schedules and priorities are maintained.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform common tasks under general supervision including 1) Plans, coordinates, and directs daily, weekly and monthly long range work operations: 2) Maintains ground maintenance and minor repairs to electrical (rough in work installing wiring, conduits and boxes, installing light fixtures, wall switches and outlets), plumbing (rough in work for drainage piping), carpentry (rough carpentry for minor repairs to temporary structures) and painting work on buildings and facilities; and 3) Assigns, schedules, and directs work and approves leave requests. This position is designated as essential personnel employee and will be required to report for duty or held in a duty status to provide support before, during and or after special emergency situations, such as but not limited to, destructive weather, disasters or periods of an increased security threat.
