About the Position: This position is located in the Maintenance and Demil Ammo Division of the Letterkenny Munitions Center at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
Duties
Supervise employees involved in conventional and non-conventional ammunition maintenance, demilitarization, and destruction operations.
Plan weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for the work unit.
Explain ammunition demilitarization, maintenance, and destruction requirements, methods, and procedures to subordinates.
Investigate work related problems to identify causes and implement corrective actions.
Perform the full range of personnel administration to include developing employee performance standards, preparing performance appraisals, initiating proposals for disciplinary actions, and interviewing candidates for vacancies.
Maintain accountability of explosive components and items utilizing automated logistics systems such as the Logistics Management Program (LMP).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
- Incumbent must undergo physical examination and receive favorable results prior to appointment and annually thereafter.
- The position is covered by the civilian drug abuse testing program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 7412, Condition of Employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program.
- Must maintain eligibility for Arms, Ammunition and Explosives (AA and E) Certification/Screening IAW AR 190-11.
- Must meet ammunition certification requirements IAW AMC-R 350-4 within one year of appointment.
- This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position.
