About the Position: Serves as supervisor over the Ammonium Perchlorate (AP) Rocket Motor Demilitarization (ARMD) Facility for Letterkenny Munitions Center (LEMC) and the disassembly, rebuild, renovation, modification and reassembly of various conventional and non-conventional ammunition items and components.
Duties
Supervise employees to ensure they are familiar with the ARMD system overview, theory of operations, functional description and inspection of major sub-assemblies.
Supervise employees performing rotational duties at multiple operating buildings with multiple work stations, servicing a variety of operations and assemblies of ordnance systems.
Responsible for identifying and ensuring proper accountability of ammunition and ammunition related assets.
Responsible for planning, coordinating, and administering work directly or through a subordinate leader.
Determines the sequence, priority, and time for the performance of operations within the limits of broader work schedules and time limits.
Responsible for Safety and Environmental Compliance of work operations.
Plans weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates.
Explains work requirements, methods, and procedures; instructs subordinates in new procedures; and provides advice when problems arise.
Maintains documentation to assure proper accountability of explosive components or explosive end items.
Performs duties which involve handling and/or storing hazardous waste material.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
- The position is covered by the civilian drug abuse testing program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 7412, Condition of Employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program.
- Performs duties which involve the control, accountability, and shipment of arms, ammunition, and explosives (AAandE). Incumbent must maintain AAandE Security Certification/Screening IAW AR 190-11.
- Incumbent is required to meet ammunition certification requirements IAW AMC-R 350-4 within one year of employment.
- Incumbent must undergo physical examination and receive favorable results prior to appointment and annually thereafter.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an ARMD Facility Supervisor without more than normal supervision. Ability to supervise the work of the ARMD Facility demonstrated by experience utilizing the ARMD equipment to determine nature and scope of repairs, adjustments, and/or replacement of components. Design, test, install, and modify specialized tools, fixtures, and equipment for a variety of ammunition and missile related operations. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
