About the position: This position will be assigned to the Antelope Crossing Café on FE Warren AFB, Wyoming. This position is considered Flexible. Guaranteed zero hours, but has the potential to work up to 40 hours per week. You may be required to work some nights, weekends and holidays. Not eligible for leave or benefits. The starting wage for this position is set by Federal pay setting regulations at $17.64 per hour.

Duties

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Performs a full range of simple cooking tasks by preparing and cooking items that require little or no processing. Prepares hot cereals, broiled meats; prepares and cooks concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces, and gravies; makes cold sandwich fillings. Prepares convenience items, some cooks at this level prepare and bake pizzas. Prepares food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, etc. Weighs, measures, and assembles ingredients for regular menu items; sets up and replenishes salad bar; portions foods for distribution and meal service. Washes and cleans kitchen equipment. Physical Effort: Continual standing and walking, frequent stooping, reaching, pulling, and bending. Frequently lifts or moves objects weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted, and occasionally lifts or moves objects weighing over 40 pounds with assistance. • This position requires the incumbent to complete a NACI Tier 1 background investigation with favorable results.
• This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.

Previous knowledge of food preparation and operation and cleaning of food service equipment is desired. This is a developmental job position in which incumbent will show progressive knowledge in the duties and responsibilities and complete training within 3 months of hiring, and when a mastery of the duties is shown the incumbent will be promoted to the Cook, NA-04 position.
