National Defense University (NDU) supports the joint warfighter by providing rigorous Joint Professional Military Education to members of the U.S. Armed Forces and select others in order to develop leaders who have the ability to operate and creatively think in an unpredictable and complex world.
Duties
Develops plans and strategies for the internal and external integration of day-to-day and long-range projects, actions, and activities.
Independently formulates general policies and plans relating to administrative functions, and formulates new or revised regulations to meet current or changing conditions.
Responsible for managing the operating schedule and long-range calendar.
Researches and coordinates with all sections in order to depict executive level travel, VIPs, major events, social activities, and speeches.
Supervises all aspects of travel to include coordination of complex itineraries; making air/ground transportation arrangements; hotel reservations; and preparation of trip books.

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.

Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-07 for GS-09 positions, and GS-09 for GS-11 positions, within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
GS-09 Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as experience in selecting the best approach to analyzing subjects and issues, basic management and organizational practices, and various administrative duties.
GS-11 Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as experience with developing plans for day-to-day or long-range projects, maintaining operating schedules and long-range calendars, and providing guidance to other administrative personnel.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of Education for Experience: You MUST provide transcripts to validate substitute of education claim.
For the GS-09 level: Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education, Master's or equivalent graduate degree, may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
For the GS-11 level: Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed higher-level graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
Official Transcripts: If the position you are applying for has a positive degree requirement or education forms the basis for qualifications (i.e. you would not qualify without the education obtained), you MUST submit transcripts with your application.
