This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Government Contract Business Development - HQ in Washington, DC. Responsible for provision of very specialized management and technical assistance to eligible firms and SBA districts offices pursuant to Section 7(G) of the Small Business Act.
Duties
Review 8(a) contracting actions to ensure completion of all required documents.
Based on broad technical and administrative guidelines, the incumbent is responsible for administering 8(a) marketing and interagency liaison programs.
Represents the Agency as the subject-matter expert in discussions, conferences and working groups.
Requirements

- You must successfully complete a background investigation.
- You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- This is not a (drug) testing designated position (TDP).
- This is a bargaining unit position with AFGE Local 228.
Qualifications
GS-13: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service) obtained in either the private or public sector which demonstrates experience providing analysis and evaluation of contracting matters in order to develop policy, procedures, guidance and control for subordinate contracting activities; and conducting studies, analyzing data, and monitoring internal operating procedures in order to recommend improvements.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
TIME-IN-GRADE: If you are a current career or career-conditional federal employee applying for promotion under Merit Promotion you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks in positions at the next level lower than the position being filled.
