Duties
Serves as the Pistol Team Coach for the Cadet Pistol Team under the general supervision of the Officer In Charge (OIC) assigned to the team. Serves as the subject matter expert regarding all aspects of the team functionality.
Schedules, plans, and oversees in-season practices, competitions, tournaments, and team practices. Coordinates necessary usage of the Marksmanship Range for equipment, practices, and matches.
Represents the team's interest at conferences and associations to include national and regional committees of related professional organizations. Coordinates team travel and is responsible for discipline, health, and welfare of the team.
Is thoroughly familiar with the interpretation of rules/regulations which govern the conduct of the sport and associated activities as well as rules and regulations that govern cadet behavioral and conduct expectations.
Contributes to the preparation of the budget submission, a component of the overall Extracurricular Program budget, which includes sensitive items and assets. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- Must be willing to accept a varying or rotating shift to include nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and overtime.
- This is an Army Drug Testing position; the incumbent must sign a DA Form 5019-R as a condition of employment and shall be subject to periodic and random urinalysis drug testing in accordance with AR 215-3 and EO 12564.
- Must be able to continually stand, walk, stoop, reach, pull, push, and bend. Must be able to lift of move objects up to 40 pounds unassisted, and occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors during different types of weather conditions ranging from hot and/or humid to extreme sub-freezing temperature.
- Must possess and maintain a state issued driver's license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government motor vehicle operator's license.
- Satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks IAW AR 215-3, para 2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation and physical examination.
- This position requires travel to locations on and off post.
Qualifications
1 year of demonstrated work experience that provides evidence of the ability to instruct students in the use of firearms equipment, principles, or practices of pistol shooting, to include the ability to train and develop shooters of various experience levels for competition. Possess skills in instructional techniques sufficient to provide subject matter classroom instruction.
This experience may have been gained as a teacher or instructor; in on-the-job supervision or instruction of subordinates or fellow workers; or in work involving the application of the principles, practices, and techniques of the occupation or subject matter field of the position to be filled.
