Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAYAs a Communication Specialist, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:
Ensuring appropriate messaging is included in key communications to broad and targeted audiences and that overall strategies are coordinated across OCSS and implemented, as planned.
Establishing, maintaining, and fostering effective working relationships with OCSS central and regional office staff; state, tribal and local child support personnel; staff from ACF and other federal agencies; advocacy and public interest groups and volunteer organizations.
Networking and building relationships to promote the OCSS mission.
Clearly communicating information to improve the public's understanding of the national child support program.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Minimum Qualifications:
You must have one year specialized experience to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing at least three (3) of the following:
Writing, reviewing, and editing program communication materials for print, web, and social media.
Developing communication strategies for consistent and effective program messaging to promote the mission of an organization.
Planning, creating, and disseminating communications for internal and external audiences to inform stakeholders.
Using plain language principles to effectively communicate with various audiences including partners and the media.
