Duties
You will use common trade tools (e.g. drill presses, rivet guns, punches, metal saws templates, unit shears, power hand saw, power band saw, universal grinder, electric sander) to perform sheet metal work.
You will use complicated measuring instruments (e.g. protractors; calipers; snap ring; height, depth, dial, and screw pitch gauges) to measure plans and/or projects.
You will lay out work from technical documentation (e.g. blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, work orders) to construct and/or maintain installation facilities.
You will apply metal joining techniques (e.g. riveting, soldering, welding) for appearance, durability, and/or structural soundness.
You will operate computerized numerically controlled and conventional machines such as notched power brake, spot welder, acetylene welder, and drill presses.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position requires a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for this position. Must be willing and able to submit to a SCHR check.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- This is a bargaining unit position.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform common tasks including determining work methods and tools necessary to accomplish sheet metal work assignments based on standard methods and procedures; and performance of recurring steps involved in the disassembly or reassembly of parts, assemblies, and larger components.
