Duties
Provide managers with objectively based information for making decisions on the administrative and programmatic aspects of organization operations and management.
Assist higher grade specialists and team leaders by conducting management surveys, preparing narrative reports, and implementing changes directed by DFAS headquarters and management.
Assists in maintaining relevant databases; accumulate and input monthly management data; assist in preliminary data retrieval and analysis and report preparation.
Serves as a Card Approver for the office by reviewing purchases with a government wide purchase card when needed; reconciles funding documents with monthly statements and credit card logs/ledgers.
Certifies purchases are correct and within spending limits; and coordinates with Federal and non-Federal contacts to resolve billing discrepancies and contacts banks to initiates any disputes.
Requirements

- Registered for Selective Service (males born after 12-31-1959).

- Time after Competitive Appointment: Candidates must have served 3 months after latest competitive appointment in the Federal service.

Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-07) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience: experience using qualitative and quantitative methods and techniques in program areas to evaluate effectiveness and efficiency; assisting in providing analysis and evaluative support to the program area of the organization; and serving as a member of a team that advises management on the effectiveness of assigned programs.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher grade in Federal Service.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
Education
GS-9 Substitution of Education for Experience: Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education, Master's or equivalent graduate degree, may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
