You will serve as a PRODUCTION SHOP PLANNER (ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIAL CONTROL MECHANIC) in the PIPE SHOP, PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENTof PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will compile work packages that accompany the Task Group Instructions (TGI's) / Technical Work Documents (TWJ)'s) through the duration of task execution.
You will utilize the project Task Packaging Strategy by sorting information available in the database to develop task packages for the execution of work.
You will perform a review of the current scheduled work using the Work Packaging and Control BAIM application software to determine the proper scope for an individual task package based on the probability of work beginning as scheduled.
You will coordinate and obtain all work authorization prior to releasing the task package to execution.
You will ensure that all required certification in the Technical Work Document (TWD) and support records/forms in the package are complete.
You will use eFEM to place work orders into the appropriate status and work type.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

*Identifying, tracking, delivering, and assembling all materials needed to perform the tasks associated with the maintenance work order.
*Ability to identify materials needed to support work execution and submit purchase requests for materials in advance to support maintenance due dates.
*Resolving work problems and giving assistance on trade related requirements.
*Initiating Deficiency Logs (DL's) and Deficiency Reports (DR's) for outside purchases and problems.
*Reviewing the current scheduled work to determine the proper scope for an individual task package (work order) based on the probability of the work beginning as scheduled, identifying scheduling conflicts, and informing project team personnel for resolution.
