The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as the Executive Administrative Support Specialist/Trip Manager for the A5/8 directorate, performing as the single point of contact for a wide variety of executive, administrative, protocol, budget and official functions trips in support of Directorate objectives and AMC command's mission.
Duties
Performs executive, administrative, and analytical support services for the A5/A8 directorate and senior staffs.
Provides Protocol support for the directorate and serves as the principal trip specialist for the Director and senior staff by performing a wide variety of travel advisory support functions
Acts as the single focal point for all official travel by the Director and Two Deputy Directors, Strategy, Plans, Requirements, and Programs, Air Mobility Command.
Manages Directorate resources for executive administrative support, services and activities
Independently plans and performs complex administrative support duties requiring different approaches and methods from one assignment to another.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the generalized/ specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, General Schedule Qualification Standards (opm.gov)
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes experience in the implementation of administrative concepts, principles, and practices sufficient to perform independently such duties as eliminating conflict and duplication in extensive office procedures; determining when new procedures are needed; systematically studying and evaluating new policies, methodologies, and procedures and recommending acceptance or rejection of their use; studying the administrative activities of the office and recommending a specific restructuring of the way activities are carried out
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge and skill in researching, analyzing, evaluating a variety of DoD and AMC executive administrative and information support guidelines and policies, and resolving problems and issues quickly and accurately to support the directorate's program effectiveness and organizational productivity; gather and assemble facts; draw conclusions; devise appropriate solutions to problems, independently prepare a variety of documents and correspondence.
2. Knowledge and general understanding of the Air Mobility Command (AMC) and the Department of Defense (DOD), Joint Staff, other Services, Major Commands, and military and civilian traditions, customs, travel requirements and goals to interact with management officials within internal and external organizations to successfully apply military protocol, etiquette manuals and guides, USAF and Command policies, regulations, agency policy, practices and procedures to organize and oversee protocol events.
3. Knowledge of, and ability to successfully apply standard protocol courtesies to be accorded to distinguished visitors primarily from the United States and within the Department of Defense to establish and maintain a harmonious working relationship with all levels of management and staff members within and outside of the directorate, to include senior military and civilian leaders at higher echelons, foreign and civilian dignitaries, and individuals in local and other government agencies.
4. Knowledge of various computer information systems, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of correspondence and documents; ability to interpret existing regulatory guidelines and develop directorate guidelines, instructions, supplements and/or procedures to independently plan individual workload to meet deadlines and coordinate event support requirements with a variety of organizations utilizing office automation software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
5. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing, manage and/or resolve complex issues and maintain good working relationships.
6. Practical knowledge of pertinent budgeting and accounting practices and procedures to project, monitor, and document collection and expenditure of funds.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
