Duties
Responsible for the technical and administrative supervision of the hydrology, rangeland, and recreation programs in the field office.
Coordinates the interdisciplinary team with planning and implementation of grazing lease renewals, special recreation permits, water monitoring and compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act.
Provide guidance to assigned staff related to the laws, regulations and policy associated with the rangeland, recreation, and hydrology programs.
Manage coordination and communication between the Casper Field Office and other agencies including Wyoming Game and Fish Department, NRCS, USFWS, and USFS.

Qualifications

GS-12: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: oil and gas permit experience; and familiar with guidance and regulations on compliance with NEPA laws.
Experience in interpreting and applying laws policy and regulations associated with natural resource management.
Experience with budget formulation and tracking.
Experience leading a group of resource professionals through the interdisciplinary process

Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. Physical Demands: The work varies from principally sedentary in completing office phases of assigned duties to preforming field work. This may include for walking and other vigorous work under adverse climatic and topographic situations (heat in excess of 95 degrees F. and below -20 degrees F.). Average agility and dexterity is required for this position.
Work Environment: Most work is preformed in the office in close proximity to fellow workers. Field work may include walking or driving motor vehicles over rough terrain in remote areas. Abnormal stress situations may also occur that involve completion of work to meet short deadlines

Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
